I know I sound like a broken record, saying the same stuff over and over again, and posting up the same links, but I really mean it this time. I’m going to be well organised for this year’s NaNoWriMo. I know what you’re thinking, November is still nearly three months away, there’s plenty of time to organise, no need to panic. Yes, that’s exactly what I thought last year, and last year I ended up completely forgetting and didn’t do a damn thing.
But this year, things will be different, this year I’m going to perfect my outlining process, my Novel Outline template will be complete and I’ll be able to re-write Metamorphosis. I know, I’m supposed to start with a brand new story idea, but to be honest, this first draft and the previous first draft will be completely different, besides it’s my NaNoWriMo project, I’ll do what I want.
Thus far, I’ve outlined 24 out of 27 chapters and I’ve done detailed character profiles for my two main characters. However I to complete basic character profiles for the rest of the secondary characters, figure out names for the relevant noble houses (my aliens have a very strict system of Aristocracy) and a list of common phrases in Latin. No big deal. I’m sure I can complete all of that in 3 months.
I’m really looking forward to working on this project, I have so many other things to do, so it’ll be a welcoming change just to be able to sit down and simply focus on this one thing. I’ve let my blogging take over, so it’ll be good to be finally let it go for a month. It just means I’ve got a metric shit-load of things to do before I can do that.
So, will you be getting involved in the NaNoWriMo project this year? If so, do you already have an idea? Feel free to tell me in the comments section
