Quarterly Goals: October – December 2018

This Quarter is going to be one of Review and Revision. I’m not going to be taking on any more new projects. I’m just going to try to finish as much as I can of the projects I’ve started at the beginning of the year. The exception being Stim Toy Reviews because (believe it or not) I actually have a backlog of stim toy review topics that I need to get done.

Quarterly Writing Goals:
~Write one Stim Toy Review post per month (try to post on a Monday)
Goal Accomplished –
01. Stim Toy Collections: Bouncy Balls
02. Stim Toy Review: Squishable Pig
03. Stim Toy Review: Galaxy Alpaca

~Write one Weekend Notes Review and one Recipe Yum article per month (get better at linking to articles and self-promotion)
Goal Not Accomplished –
0 Weekend Notes articles and 1 Recipe Yum article.
01. Recipe Yum – Vanilla Bean Shortbread

~Yearly Overview:
Weekend Notes: Goal = 9 articles | Achieved = 6 articles
Recipe Yum: Goal = 9 articles | Achieved = 3 articles

I don’t think I’m going to manage to complete 3 more Weekend Notes articles by the end of the year (just being realistic). Last year, writing up six recipe blog-posts wouldn’t have seemed so bad, but now, these types of posts just seem like a drain on my resources. IDK. I’ll keep going but I have my doubts.

~Write and publish a minimum of four blog-posts per month on Ambiguous Pieces
Goal Accomplished –
I generally write 8 blog posts per month on Ambiguous Pieces. Yay!

~Film, edit and publish one video (via my YouTube Channel) once a month
Goal Not Accomplished –
Yeah… Once again, I haven’t done any videos this quarter, and it’s super frustrating. It’s not that I don’t have good ideas, I generally don’t have a problem with creating ideas in the first place. My problem has generally always been the follow-up/follow through on said ideas. My partner may have a good point in the fact that I’m probably not utilising my time properly. I’ve made seven videos thus far this year, I’m going to try to aim to make 12 videos by the end of the year, that way I’ve at least made an average of one video per month for the year.

Quarterly Reading Goals:
Books Read: 77 books
Books Read from Quarterly Booklist: 1 book

~Yearly Overview:
~Goodreads Reading Challenge 2018:
Read: Goal = 65 books | Achieved = 110
Reviewed: Goal = 24 books | Achieved = 34 Books

Due to the fact that I have completed this goal before the end of the year, I’m going to try to dedicate this last quarter to catch up on my other Writing goals and Vlogging goals. There are a few books I need to review before the end of the year, however, this goal is pretty much done.

I’m also not going to be borrowing books any more books from the library (apart from the ones I already had on reserve at the end of September). Library books have a return date, which means those books have a mandatory deadline for book reviews to be completed. So, what ends up happening is that I end up focusing on only library books, and forget about my assigned reading.

I’m also not adding any new books to the Quarterly Booklist. I’ve written down the books I was supposed to read over the last nine months and I’m going to try to read as many as I can before the end of the year. I don’t have high hopes of getting all the books on the big list read, I suspect I’ll get three or four completed, but it’s better than nothing.

~Australian Women Writers Challenge:
Read and Review 4 books by Australian Women Writers
01. Book Review: Foreign Soil by Maxine Beneba Clarke
02. Book Review: The Ghost of Raven Hill by Emily Rodda
03. Book Review: Fence – Volume 1 by C.S. Pacat

So I just have to read and review one more book and I’ll have completed this goal. I’ve decided to read 10 Diverse Books this year as well and, depending on your definition of a “Diverse Book”, I’m up to six thus far. I managed 7 last year, which is good, but I’m hoping I can read and review four more books by the end of the year.

So, those are the goals and updates for this quarter, if you want to talk about your quarterly goals, leave a comment. If you want to share links to your blog-posts or videos detailing your goals, that’s fine, just leave a comment down below.
